I really liked the first Red Faction, entertaining all the way. I had a blast placing C4s on innocent miners and hearing them yell non-stop down 5 rooms away and finally detonating them from a distance and hearing the muffled explosion sound from afar. I used to carve tunnels as lengthy as there were workers to help with me the work (most of them didn't run in the right direction unfortunately). Really nice game and would have seen it as a Total Recall-styled mid or late 1980s B sci-fi movie.
However, I simply know that as silly and sometimes cringe-worthy (yet fun) the original was, nobody would ever be able to recapture it the way it was in a remake or a sequel that'd try to stay in the veins of the first one. I wouldn't "hope" for it anyway. Well... I would... but I just know it'd fail. Unless the guys who worked on the first pretty much all came back together as a team and did it themselves. To me the first Red Faction was one of the best, possibly THE best Half-Life wannabe of its time; about as much as Blood or Hexen tried to be Doom but in their own unique ways (and succeeded, loved those games too; yes even Hexen, screw the haters).
A remake of Morrowind, maybe. I'd be curious to see how it'd turn out but I assume that other than the environment and timeline it'd just play too similar to Skyrim. And we're not talking about a remaster here but an actual remake? Yeah, the amount of work that would have to go into such a project I think wouldn't be worth it and they might as well just work on their 'proper' Elder Scrolls 6 instead. Besides I'd guess that Bethesda considers their latest Elder Scrolls Online update a sort of remake (or a 'revisiting') of Morrowind and serves that purpose enough for years to come (as unfortunate as this sounds for many I bet).
Now, a finished or remade KOTOR 2, now THAT I would love to see happen. I never even played it to start with and I KNOW I'd go in in a heart beat if it was made on a modern engine and properly worked on until the end of the project, without the need for the fans to have to rework on it for ten years to give us a still-truly-unfinished game. The problem is we don't have BioWare anymore. I would NOT want the BioWare that gave us Inquisition and Andromeda to touch the Star Wars universe again. I don't know who might do that justice. Maybe CDPR or Obsidian. However, the Star Wars franchise is currently centralized to EA exclusively so yeah, won't happen (and if one of the EA studios do work on some sort of a single-player story-driven SW game right now you can bet it won't be in the veins of KOTOR nor will it be about that time period either since they're apparently bent on just doing stuff from the 'real lore' and won't touch anything outside of the Skywalker saga or at least the general movies' time line and events).
Edit: Ah, completely forgot but KOTOR 2 was in fact developed by Obsidian. Ah well, a remake definitely won't happen from them that's for sure (unfortunately).
