That is pretty sweet. Did you notice this:
The Batmobile is a promotional vehicle from the Warner Bros. movie, "Batman Returns," and is for display only. While it is available for purchase, certain restrictions and contract requirements are in effect with buyer approval by Warner Bros. For an approval package, call Becky at 800.968.4444. Batman and all related elements are the property of DC Comics. Copyright DC Comics, 2002.
I wonder what that's about.

maybe you're not allowed to do certain commercials or advertise at all with the car.

My parents live in Santa Clarita and the owner of that Ferret is a family friend. He used to drive that thing everywhere and it looks pretty scary when you look in your rearview mirror and see that thing behind you. It's also very loud. Santa Clarita is a town built mostly around the movie industry and a lot of the original MASH show was filmed there. The lot you see in the background of some of the pics is a large storage facility where movie props and the vehicles for MASH were stored. Many of those vehicles have been just sitting around since the show ended and are being auctioned off.

Hrm... can we confirm that the batmobile is a car that actually is capable of being driven on the freeway? Terms say no, the 12V battery in the passenger side suggests it may all be a dummy mock-up with lights but no engine.

Well, there were two functional versions of that car, I guess the one in the auction isn't one...

I thought David Copperfield bought the original Batmobile. I remember he made a big stink about Warner changing the design of the Batmobile in Batman Forever, etc.

Um, I thought the TV show and movie were filmed in Malibu Canyon?

Yep, I was right, the outdoor scenes were filmed at Malibu Creek Park.

I know Dukes of Hazard and Roots were filmed in Santa Clarita, though :) I always wondered why the old South looked so much like Magic Mountain :p
