Any tips? Video card selection? I'm ready to build dudes. How about some tips?

Just hanging out with my blond roundchin redneck trailer trash smoker chick girlfriend and drinking some redbulls and natys. Just inherited a ton of money and looking for inspiration on building my great gaming machine. Hope to have the task completed within 2 weeks.

Thanks

Southside Bubba

9800GX2 in sli...or you can wait until july for teh 9900GX2 (or 9900GTX, i dont remember which one is coming exactly).

as for the rest of the specs...if you REALLY want the "ultimate" pc and money is really no object, then you should go with intel's skulltrail.

I would recommend to do something with your life but since you weren't taught much moral then i suggest get this :

3x 9800GTX or 2x 9800GX
4GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3 16000
4x 150GB Raptor in raid 0
ASUS Striker II Formula
Corsair 1000W PSU
Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770

biostuds corrections are valueable and valid. I agree. but both of you made a mistake in the name of one of the cards

4x 300GB Raptor in raid 0

there was a 2 in there...

Even if you are rich, I would go with one 9800GTX now, and 3x SLI of the G200 cards when they come out in a month or two. (next gen cards).
Or buy 3x 9800GTX now and then sell them all on ebay and buy 3x G200 (or Geforce 10 or whatever it will be called) in a month.

I would actually think that replacing those 3X9800 GTXs with 3X8800 Ultras, will give the maximum performance right now, especially for higher resolutions.

Because once you invest that much , you will use one of the biggest and expensive LCD you can find ( 1920X1200+ resolutions).

somebody with that kind of money won't have teh patience to learn how to build that rig. I recommend that you get alienware to build it for you. Just click the most expensive computer, then click the most expensive options every time. problem solved :)

For amusement I went to Falcon to see what an uber rig would run, $13,354 was the dmg. That should be able to play Crysis at medium settings with smooth framerates all the way through.
