So I ordered a case from Newegg on 7/27. It shipped on 7/28, loaded with that good old Newegg quality. So UPS drags the case from California to New York. I live in Kingston, NY and the package is expected to arrive on 8/2. Fine.

8/2 rolls around. It says out for delivery. It's not.

8/3 rolls around. It says out for delivery. It's not.

8/4 rolls around and I take a trip to UPS. They say that it's a new guy, and that it's been really hot so they're working more slowly... They tell me to call back at 8pm. I do. The guy is still out delivering. Call back later. I do.

Then the package comes up on the UPS site as delivered. It's obviously not here, so they do a truck-by-truck search of the parking lot. They don't know where it is, so they'll call me back in 10 minutes. Fine.

I just got the call. The guy went to my apartment office to drop the package off at 445pm, but the manager didn't want it (I was at the office at 445 and was talking about how I wanted my package and asking if they'd hold it for me) so he accidentally marked it as delivered. Then when he got back to base, they loaded it onto a conveyer belt. They're not sure which one.

They said "your package could be on its way to Albany, NY. We'll know more on Monday."

All I can say is.... WTF?

Edit: Spelling

Ive got a UPS problem as well right now. Ordered a 19" Hanns-G LCD on monday, shipped tuesday. It was supposed to be delivered today, but the tracking status has been at "origin scan" ever since tuesday, no departure scan and no scans in oregon as newegg packages always go there while en-route to seattle. Still shows "On Time".

Any idea on how to contact UPS? Their "customer service" line is fully automated, no way to find out anything beyond whats on the website.

Hit zero over and over on their customer service line.

Your apt manager's retarded and lazy. So what's UPS to do if your manager doesn't wanna call you to the front desk or whatever to pickup the package?

remember the good ole days when Newegg was an exceptional retailer instead of just a ok one that tries to leverage its old image of being an exceptional retailer

First of all UPS needs to deliver it to my door instead of the office. That's what they normally do.

Second of all, as I said, I was there talking to the woman for a good 10 minutes in the time period that they supposedly tried to deliver the package. Even if I wasn't there, she and I were talking about how she can't get the packages delivered in the apartment complex. It's the apartment's standard procedure to hold all packages. It's even in the lease. Even if they got turned away, they should say "attempted delivery" and/or put a note on my door.

Third, even assuming that they did come and got turned away, they shouldn't ship my case to "probably Albany".

I got put on hold and then they hung up on me...

::edit:: Got put through and they cant do anything. Told me to contact newegg. :(

Chaotic, maybe they are returning it to sender? After x many delivery attempts they just send it back.

I must be the only one who loves that they use UPS now. I've never had any problem with UPS and it's cheaper.

No, I spoke with the actual site manager. He said that their people made a mistake and just put it on a random truck.

UPS is more hit an miss. they use franchizes in certain markets and the quality isn't consistent

Fedex is more reliable

I know when I lived in AZ I went from 2 day delivery from Newegg to 3-5 when they changed to UPS and the boxes seemed alot more "handled"

Well, I'm not really *mad* that they've completely botched a very simple delivery that they've made before, I will however have a long, frank discussion with my apartment manager. If UPS just lied to me, then I will definitely swear off of them.

If I get my case by the end of next week, I'll be surprised.

But it's more expensive :(.

But that certainly isn't Newegg's fault. The only reason to switch the default to UPS is to have lower basic shipping costs.
