Ok, last week i got my electric bill for $209.xx
It said i had missed a bill, not that i remember seeing one; and this city is bad for missing bills (whether its the billing office of the utilities department, or the post office, i dont know) but the point is, one was late, so last month and the month before needed to be paid. However, the due date was 02/03/03. Last I checked that meant February 3rd of this year. That would be next Monday. So, i figure, that if i pay the bill this week (the recent bill and the overdue one) I would be even on my utilities, and would have power. So, i get home...and my power is off. They tell me that while the DUE date on the bill is February the 3rd, they WERE going to cut my power off LAST WEEK, on the 22nd of January, except it snowed, so they waited til today...how polite of them.
Anyway, whatever the reason was that I never remember getting a bill last month isn't the point. I owe them money, so I pay it, no complaint about that. The point is that I dont think the current bill should tell me BOTH charges are due on the 3rd of February, while they try to cut me off on the 22nd (which, by the way, is the day I got the bill with a notice that my previous had been unpaid).
Anyone else think it doesnt make sense to put one due date on the bill, and yet plan to cut me off on the 22nd? They should have told me that the unpaid bill was due the 22nd (which, again was the day i got the damn notice anyway, tho it MAY have been on the 21st...) and the current was due in February, shouldn't they? It just seems like bad business to tell me that the due date on BOTH payments are a week and a half AFTER they plan to terminate my service in the first place?
So, am I right in complaining about the difference between a due date/termination date? Or am I wrong? Again, that I owed the money wasnt a problem, i dont recall haveing a bill for whatever reason, but if I owe money I pay it...which i did today, and they obviously restored my electricity. All city run utilities and services have horrible service as it is, and this is just one more thing that I feel is done wrong...but do I have a good reason to say anything?
I think I do, but before I say anything Id like a few unbiased opinions first, so what do you people think?

If it was repetitive....then I didnt proofread.
