Question I would like to hear your opinions on my PC upgrade.

hello, I'm planning on upgrading some parts of my pc and I would like some perspectives on it.

These are the components that I'm currently running on my system which are also the parts I want to upgrade.
CPU: i5-4460
Motherboard: B85M-G
RAM: 16GB (DDR3 Dual Channel 1600MHz)

There are the components that I plan on buying to replace those above.
CPU: i5-10400F
Motherboard: ASUS PRIME H510M-K
RAM: 2 ram sticks KINGMAX (1x8GB) DDR4 2666MHz (can't find dual channel in my area)

P/S: If you guys need any questions, please ask so that I can provide you guys the information as I'm not sure if this is enough information.
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB (I'm keeping the GPU, not upgrading)

I would make the leap to ADL at least for the bandwidth boost to PCI / DDR / hybrid cores.

Picking a DDR4 board / RAM should be the same process now that they've released more of them since launch.

How tight is your budget? A 12100f will give the 10400 a run for its money. Going up to the 12400 is a nice sweet spot for a decent budget machine. As long as you don't need a ton of other features, you can still stick with a H610 motherboard if you can't jump up to a decent B660 board.

Going with i5-10400F now with better available options will just make your system less future proof. If budget is tight, save up and upgrade a month or two later. It will be so worth it.

What is the purpose of the system, gaming?

If so, I'm not sure you should bother to upgrade unless you can also update your GPU. Curious what others say about this.

I've had systems that were stronger on the GPU side and others that were stronger on the CPU side and for my usage the systems with stronger GPUs were the best. Of course you need some balance here.

If you don't have an SSD that is a must have. Best bang for your buck. Do you have an SSD?

It shows that your current CPU is holding back your GPU by 4 to 13% depending on your resolution.

Curiously the same website shows the 10400f being a worse bottleneck...
