He's frickin 80 years old; what are they going to do? Sentence the last few years of his life to sh|tting himself, drooling, and sleeping 18 hours a day in a cell instead of doing the same at home in front of the boob-tube? The article also states that he's a former member of the Klan. Why former? The Klan still exists, so why isn't he still a member? Obviously something's changed in him. Even if he's pronounced guilty, good grief. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me to send him to prison. It's not like he's a danger to society now anyway and reforming an 80 year old seems pretty pointless to me since his pictures looks like he's already got a foot in the grave.

Maybe because he's a retired Klansman? It's hard to ride horses and be able to see through a white blanket when you're that old.

He's probably a former member because he couldn't keep up the murder, rape, and beating quota.

Even if he was still a 'member' I doubt very much that he carries his KKK Prerferred Alumni card with him.

He's still a danger because all he has to do is order a painful death to someone and an up-and-comer skin head would gladly perform the act...I think it would be worth several merit badges and a green sticker on his pointy cap.

Oh, he still does that? Wait, still? How do we know that he'd do it again if we don't even know if he's done it once?

Has it been proven that he actually did it to begin with? The jury's cut right down the middle on the verdict. I'd venture to say that some of those who think he's guilty simply believe so just because he admits he used to be part of the KKK and not because they're considering evidence. That's just how people are in today's society. OMG you think illegal immigrants are *gasp* a bad thing?! OH NOES!! RACIST!!! KKK!!!! YOU JEW MURDERING NAZI!!

It's obvious that there's not a lot of concrete evidence to link him to the crime; otherwise we'd have a guilty verdict pretty quickly. Oh well. If he's innocent, fine who cares. If he's guilty, fine who cares. But what are they going to do with him if he's guilty?

White supremacists have quite a clique going on in prisons (as do most groups... so he won't be going in there and being fresh meat to everybody), so he's going to be quite comfortable there (well, as comfortable as you can get in prison).

LOL - 30% of the inmates in US prisons are illegal immigrants. Far FAR fewer are white supremacists. If you want to talk about cliques, let's talk about those

Huh? I wasn't insinuating any racial issue or anything. I'm just saying that if you're going into prison as a white supremacist, you're going to be quite welcome... no doubt you'll be at the bottom of the foodchain, but the group is so small in prison that they're quite welcoming of others who are of like mind... and the fact that he was once high in the KKK will no doubt make him quite the celebrity amongst others supremacists.

Yeah, if someone killed your father or mother (assuming you like at least one of them), you wouldn't want them to suffer in jail for it at all would you?

If it were someone I knew or cared about, I'd want him to pay no matter how old he was.

If it happened today, then I'd probably take justice into my own hands. In fact I know I would. However, if it happened today and I weren't able to make that happen, I'm sure I'd be over it in forty years.
