I was surfin' around trying to find a firewall that I had heard about just to try out.

So I download it directly from this link in yahoo...well, I install it and...SURPRISE: I can't boot up my computer the next time around (it crashes at the splash screen). I can get into safe mode, but that's all folks.

I back up all the stuff that I need to my second hard drive, uninstall that firewall, delete all files related to the firewall, and reboot.

Well, fortunately this must have done the trick because I (obviously) could boot up the next time around.

I don't give a rats ass about my C: drive, everything I need from it is backed up onto my D: drive, but, what if my D: drive is now infected too!?

That is where Housecall Antivirus comes into play. I used this mofo on my D: drive and it reported that there were no viruses but it couldn't scan a few files. I proceeded to check the detailed summary of the scan and there were some corrupt compressed files that it couldn't scan, no big deal.

All is well and tomorrow I am reformatting my C: drive...back to go ol' semi-reliable Win98se. WinME is a biznatch.
