no, just kinda wanted to start a thread like those "********official/non official******" etc threads.....but really, i was just reading Whats the hardest thing you've ever done? and read the post that Winston made and it made me think about how hard it must have been on 9-11..........

listen. i dont want to dwell on what has happened. i am tired of it. fvcking sunshine patriots who jumped and cheered or some crap, and play that "proud to be an american" song over and over and over. and hang flags after, but not before, september 11, (i never hung a flag, mostly because i know i couldnt give it proper respect of lighting it 24/7, or putting it up/taking it down.)
listen. i am not the type to join the military. i am not the type to rush off to war to fight. i am not the type to get hugely (falsely) patriotic because our country suffered a huge loss of life. i am the type, however, that if an invading army marched on our shores, i would fight them. All those damn people who put little paper flags in their cars, or rip them to shreds in the wind on their antennas... would cower and run to canada or somewhere if a war ever came to the US. I wouldnt.
and i know you dont believe that, but it'd be pointless to argue with me on it... till there comes some proof in the form of enemy soldiers on US soil, neither of us will know for sure, will he?
i dont care about rememberance. celebrating the day of death of someone seems rather hateful, no?
People are not remembering this day for that "sh!tless pride" you speak of....we are mourning because people died.

i never spoke of pride, i spoke of sunshine patriots. i am proud of my country.
and having lost several family members myself (not on 9-11), i would prefer to celebrate someone's life, not mourn their death.

That's right, I've dropped my end to not distract from the point of this thread..... though I fear it may be too late.
I thought that people really cheapened the situation by repeating the phrases and words that they heard on the news. Simple statements like "I feel scared" or "I'm angry" seem so much more powerful than "Americans will never forget this tragic, horrendous act of terrorism, and we will emerge stronger and more unified bla bla bla bla." We loved showing our emotions through stupid cliche's that had been already been repeated a thousand times on TV.
