I currently have a network at home and would like to add one, maybe two, USB printers to the network. Right now I have a Linksys WiFi G router in the center bedroom. The two printers are on the bedrooms on either side of the room with the router. One of the side bedrooms has a Linksys wired only router because I have a PS2 with the online adapter and a wired PC in this room. This room also has a laptop and Pocket PC, but they both work on the WiFi G connection. The side other bedroom only has a wired PC, so it doesn't have a router. The center bedroom only has a WiFi G laptop and a PS2 with the online adapter. And the home theater room has a HTPC with a USB 2.0 WiFi G adapter because I didn't feel like running a wire downstairs.
So what would I need to add to the side rooms in order to have the printers work? The printer in the room with the single wired PC and no router is a Canon i860, which turns on alone when jobs are sent to it. The printer in the room with the router, laptop, regular PC, PS2, and Pocket PC is a Canon bjc-55. I haven't used this one in a while, but I don't think it turns on alone. In the room without the router, what should I get? Will the printer in this room still turn on alone? What should I get for the room with the router in it?
I have never used a print server.
Thanks for all your help.
