I noticed newegg has 3 LCDs:

Acer P235Hbmid (1920 x 1080)http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009179
2343BWX (2048 x 1152) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001317
T240HD (1920 x 1200) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001280

This will be an upgade from my current Samsung 225BW which I bought several years ago.

Will I notice any difference in panels?
Any other recommendations?

Planned usage:
General purpose, Bioshock, web design/development.

Thanks.

Heya,

I would avoid the glossy one for starters.

If you want a 1080p monitor that is good at everything and cheap, then look at this one: link.

23"~24" really is the point of money/size ratio for 1080p. At this price point, you have so many options in the $200 area. You might as well save a little and get the same thing in the end. If you want to spend $300+, you should be getting a larger monitor with display port availability and 24" (like an NEC or Dell).

Very best,

Wife swears by her Acer 22' using HDMI input. She is sure it is better than DVI.

Agree that glossy panels have too much reflection.

I bought This refurbished 24" Soyo Pearl for $150 shipped ($10 off $100 purchase discount).
The only issue I found was a single stuck red pixel.
On a light screen I can't see it at all. On a dark screen I can see it, but it's off to the side of the main viewing area.

Some people may not be able to live with something like that, but considering the quality of the monitor and price, I thought it was a good trade-off.
