I would like second opinions on water cooling setups

Well, I have had these two Vantec Tornadoes in my case for the past six months... and to say the least, I am tired of them. They're incredibly loud and borderline obnoxious. I'm interested in getting this Zalman Reserator 1 VGA Cooler. But, don't let the name fool you, it does say VGA cooler (on Newegg, at least), but it comes with clips to cool procesors as well. My only problem is that on Newegg, the description says:

Compatibility Socket 478 / A / 939 / 940

It doesn't mention anything about LGA775 chips. But, in the reviews on the page for the cooler, people have mentioned how they are cooling their LGA775s with this cooler. Here's the URL for it, by the way:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835118111

And finally, if this isn't a good cooler, could you guys show me some pretty good ones? I'm not going for extreme overclocking here, I just want this thing to be quiet so I can at least hear stuff in games. I've looked at the ThermalTake Rocket set up and it looks pretty good... any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

Edit:
Here's the URL for the "rocket" set up I was talking about:

I'd go with Zalman personally. I've been toying with the notion of purchasing that system for some time.

Let us know what you decide.

If you want extreme OC'ing, forget about the zalmon...they good for moderate OC'ing and do cool as well as any other fan kit, but are mostly for silent systems

check out frozencpu for good (but overpriced a bit) components that looking around could help you build a cheaper and killer water cooling system thats better than anything a kit could do....

also if you do want to go kit check out the KOOLANCE EXOS-2 they are sweet looking and do their job very well...Hard recomends them and uses them in all their test systems, and ive heard they are very good for OC'ing...

and if you have the money to blow there is always the Vapochill

The reality is that air coolers have gotten so good it's hard to recomend waster. Unless you plan on pushing your cpu to the limit, there is no reason to bother with water. I started with a cheap kit (King Win), which was ok after a few mods. I've since gone to a 6x12 heater core with 2 120mm fans, a good water block and a budget pump (AquaVia pump. Leaks, and makes way too much noise). Other than the pump, it all works fine, but it's a pain whenever I want to work on my computer, it's not as quiet as air, and it's not that much better than air.

Zalman's Reserator comes with a really bad CPU block, and doesn't really cool very well. It's meant to be quiet, not cool. Try something else, like Koolance for external or Swiftech for internal.

well... what about the thermaltake big water kits? what do you guys think about those? they are completely internal (i believe) and they are probably pretty quiet... let me know

External is the way to go. Less junk in the PC. If you lug it to LAN parties forget it though.
You can build you own. I built one in a box and one in a piece of furniture. I flip the pump on with a Critcool Poweplant II and use 120v pump and fans. Even little 12v water pumps suck off the PSU and you would have to BUY that super dooper PSU that will run more bucks.

Try the watercooling advice at OC Forum. People are rolling their own, getting better performance that kits, and spending less money.

Here is the link for watrercooling information.

I got the parts that I wanted and then cut down a old case to fit the parts I had. It did take several months to build though.

thermaltake big water is alright...but once again its a kit...and you are never going to get he best cooling/price or even just best cooling with a kit...thermaltake's waterblocks are good though...i am using them in my system right now...i feel they cool better than danger den's ones, but only a degree or two and i did not do any real testing...

anyway the KOOLANCE EXOS-2 is your best bet...

They'd be cheaper if you could find the type that you needed, I couldn't find them in the style I need though.

As for old fart.......bet I'm as old, if not older than you..................😉
