I would buy the Wii if they had a first person RPG where certain movements with the "controller" casted a certain spell.

That is all.

I read some post on Wired where the guy wanted the same thing. Although, I think it'd get tiring after awhile. Maybe "Harry Potter Wii" will be like that ;).

There is no shame in waiting until it has more games. In fact, most patient people would consider that the smart thing to do.

Oh man this is going to bring a whole new level to cos-play. I can already see them standing around in their wizard outfits holding the wii-mote like a wand. :D

Didn't Black & White allow you to cast spells by moving the mouse in certain patterns?

Yeah, that is exactly what I was getting at... but if you actually got to move your hand it would be pretty cool I think.

I totally agree with you, except for the "Virtual" and the "Reality" part.

The Wii seems like a really fun system, I just hope when wii (I should say roommate) gets one I won't get tired of swinging that damn controller around.

I'm a huge fan of Zelda and in the very least I'll enjoy that game.

The Wii sounds like it would be fun at first. But after seeing some videos of Zelda being played on Wii's website it seems like it would get annoying after a while having to flick the Wiimote to attack the enemies. The bow sounds cool though.

Either way I'll give it a shot at some point when more games come and its around $199.

I played a bit of Arx Fatalis on the PC and having to mouse-draw a set of runes was more annoying than thrilling.

It might work well in moderation though, say for high-level spells or quest-related ritual spells rather than normal combat casting.

Or perhaps you only have to gesture at first when you're learning a new spell.

The "controller" on the wii should be promising once the game developers learn how to take advantage of it. Hopefully the "controller" will grow on the people that dont like it.

Alot of my buddy are over the motion thing. If you want great RPG go get your self PS2 or XBOX 360.

PS2 : ALL the old awesome PS1 RPG , Square enix RPG and all the other countless exclusive RPG that never came out anywhere but PS2/PS1
XBOX 360 : Mass effect , Blue Dragon , Lost odyssey and Eternal Sonata , you also have golden axe , fable , two world , kingdom under fire and Elveon.
Wii : i doubt we will see any Serious RPG like FF12 or Mass effect for the wii.
