In the somewhat near future I am planning on upgrading my Mobo and Ram.

Right now I have a Epox 8HKA+ with 1 Gig of PC 2100 Ram.

I feel like it is not up to the tasks of late (i.e. games and encoding music/ movies) plus I want to build a second computer for secondary tasks...(server, multimedia PC)

So I am looking for a board that will preferably take the current processor I have now and be somewhat expandable for newer processors...

I would like to have some extras like on board LAN, Firewire, USB 2.0...

To be honest I haven't been reseaching the boards as of late...and I am not asking for you to do it for me...

All I want is some brands that you might recommend and some models that you think in your opinion are worthy

Thanks in advance

how much do you want to spend?

the best boards at this moment are the abit nf7-s (not nf7-s2), dfi ultra infinity...

yeah.... both are awesome boards and have lots of onboard stuff that you'll be able to use...

I am in the process of selling my PDA which I would hope to get over 200 bones for...so I would expect to pay around 350-500 bones for a nice board and some decent Ram, but I might go higher depending on what is out there....

I have not been following the advances with Motherboards of late but I know they are making some big changes so I am leary of upgrading right at that chance and am curious if it might be wiser to just wait till fall...

I also want to upgrade my sound card down the road to the newer Audigy 2 ZS compared to my soundblaster patinum 5.1

if you have a decent review of the board you would recommend please post the link

Thanks so much
