I worked the system..yay for me!

I know some of you AT ers be proud....my 1st generation Playstation 2 started giving me intermittent problems after 3 + years of use....called up Eb games they guy told me they give 70 bucks for working playstation 2 or 30 bucks if it's not working....+ 10 bucks for my network adapter...

Took it in...he booted it.....and it WORKED!!!....so i got 70 for old ps2 + 10 for network adapter = 80 bucks credit....had another 10 left from a gift card = 90 bucks credit....

I bought the bundle they have for 150.....it came with new network adapter + atv offroad fury 2 ( another 5 dollar trade in credit).......

Grand total: 55 bucks for new playstation and network adapter....woo whooo

nope it only worked 60% of the time and after the system warms up it got progressively worse....pic started distorting.......so i was lucky it worked when he tested it at the store....

I felt a similar rush of glory when I successfully got an XBox from freevideogames.com. That place just screamed scam but $35~$40 of carefully monitored and cancelled trial offers later I got me an XBox. Damn hard to do it now though, thanks to the AT+FW effect; I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you have the patience of a saint.

So yay you! Way to work the system. The funny part is I bet it'll cost EB $5 to fix your PS2 so they can resell it for $145.
