I wonder if this will make any of the GOP get on board?

Good for Bob Dole. And good for America (if a self-funded Public Option is passed as part of the final legislation ...)

Isn't this the same man "the left" mocked for saying "Brooklyn Dodgers", or for how old he was he couldn't even stand up on stage.

But now that he's saying he wants "reform", they want to put him up on display?

Dole is an individual with every right to his opinion, just like every Republican in congress is an individual with every right to their own opinions.

There's nothing new here, some people want a public option, some people don't want a public option. But instead of actually discussing *this* issue, the debate is replaced by partisan tactics over stupid things like the Olympics (anything thinks there is no underlying heath-care component to that back & forth is only kidding themselves) or the attacks on ACORN. And on the issue of a public option, Dole said nothing for or against - yet clearly the author of this article is using language that gives the impression Dole is in favor of Obama's public option

Bob Dole was one of the funniest guys in DC. He couldn't perform for the camera and that hurt him. Off camera he was hilarious.

The more Republicans embrace health care reform, the more Democrats should worry about what kind of "reform" we're getting.

The Dems need enough on board so they can point the blame when things do south.

I'm certain it's also not a coincidence that the main problems don't kick in until after the 2012 elections, Obama doesn't want to risk losing the election once people get a whiff of the damage he's inflicted on the nation and on their health care system.
