I wonder how many psychologists Rush Limbaugh has on staff to screen callers

Anyone know how the process of screening callers works on big operations like that? I bet it would be incredibly interesting and vast.

I doubt that it's as high tech or scientific as you may think. All they do is ask what the caller wants to discuss with the host.

Yeah, but Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, and the others claim to get hundreds if not thousands of callers a day. If that's true, that's quite a few people to screen.

Usually it is just one or two people talking with callers to get an idea of what they want to talk about and then they put them in a queue with a note to the host about the subject of conversation. Works most of the time and when callers lie and try to ambush the host with a different topic they are quickly cut off.

They don't claim anything... they do get that many calls a day. However, averaged over a 3 hour program, it's not that unreasonable or difficult to deal with.
