This is the email just send to me. I went to the website in the email, filled out the waiver and I should be getting the box in a few weeks! I have an XP1800+ now, so I think its time for a 760MPX board! I've hardly won anything before in my entire life, so this is quite cool.

Thanks for the wishes. I am very pleased now. I'm thinking if the CPU is still 1800+, I will get a 760MPX board that was just released (if they take non-registered, non-ecc, ddr ram). That'll make a smokin' hot SMP box for Win2k. Or, I could just use it as my "second" box for gaming -- it could use a bump from 1.0ghz.

<< selected as a Potential >>

The word Potential is not a guyarentee or committment.

If you continue to read the sentence, it says "contingent upon completion of the Waiver of Liability and Publicity Release". Needless to say, I filled out that form. So I won, as long as I filled out the form, which I did.

You can read the second half the the referenced sentence either way.

Completion of the form will make you a potential winner

OR

You are a potential winner until you coplete the form, then you actually become a winner.

The glass may be half full or half empty. It looks like some slick-a$$ lawyer (no offense to the legit shysters:D wording.

IF you get it, all of us at AT should be happy for you.

Good Luck:)

Congrats on the win - That's the same email I received on 11-30-2001. The web site said 3-4 weeks for delivery. Boy was I surprised when UPS rang my bell on Monday 12-10 and delivered my proc and board! So hopefully you'll have it sooner than expected. As for the spaml, I guess I got lucky, since the email addy they have is my @home, which no longer works. Best of both worlds - free stuff and no spam!!

I'm hoping this works out, if not, oh well, at least I didn't spend any cash on it. If I do get more spam, I'm not too concerned, that processor can filter the spam even faster. :)

Its "free" in that I didn't pay anything for it, but I will have to pay some taxes. Either way, if I do get it and don't go do go dual, I will have an AMD 761 board for sale.

Let me put it to you this way: Did you enter any contest? If not, why are you a winner? What are they getting out of it? Maybe you'll get a Mobo and maybe you won't. I am laying serious odds against.

good luck to you and don't get your hopes up.

Actually, I entered the AMD XP contest for about a month -- every day it was available to enter the contest I did (2-3x time a week). They have two of my email addresses for pete's sake, so I was hoping to double my odds of winning (my girl, brother and friend all signed up too). I'm going to go with GoHuskies on this and assume, from their wording, I won. I just won't be buying anything in preperation for it.

Hehe, I won too! I only put one email address in there though, one account, only entered their online questionaires just once. I got the same exact email. I sent in that online thing. Hopefully I'll get it soon.

Jealous aren't ya? Jesus!

Comfort for those of you that got the email. Got the same one in November, they say 3-4 weeks for delivery, took about a week and a half, full retail amd 1800+ still in the shrinkrap, the MB is an OEM with no box, wrapped in bubble wrap with all the stuff though.

Do you happen to know who manufactures the mobo? I want to sell it, but I'm not sure how much it is going to be worth. The gigabyte 7dx is going for around 60 bucks... is it that one? I'm thinking about doing some pre tax return spending... Abit KR7A-Raid and 1 gig of PC2700 DDR :D I must have screwed up on my tax forms... I worked the whole summer and was suppose to get 3600, but somehow I was taxed down to 2000 bucks :| So I'm expecting a hefty tax return since that's all I made that year.
