I got a $300 gift certificate to my local camera shop.

I just got my Digital Rebel about a month ago, so I need some accessories for it. All I have is the bag and some spare batteries.

I was thinking of maybe getting a 200 or 300mm lens, or maybe a 50mm macro lens. I was also thinking about a ring flash, since I love photographing bugs and macro stuff.

What are some things I could get with $300? Keep in mind it is a retail shop, so everything is super expensive there.

Here is the pic that won. It looks really good on glossy, 5x7.

$300 isn't going to buy much in the way of decent lenses. Might make a dent in the price of one though.

300$ wont go far, it will snag you a 50mm f/1.8 tho, or you coudl get a flash, really woudl just make a dent in the hingher end stuff

I know $300 won't get me a 300mm IS lens, or anything like that... but it could get me a decent low f-stop lens, like say a 50mm or so.

$300 at a retail camera shop, hmm, let's see... do they have a gumball machine? :p Seriously, that's not going to go very far at all. You might get a tripod or a 1.4x if you need either of those. You might get a 50mm f/2.5 macro for $300, but maybe not. B+H has it for ~$230.

Congrats!:D

The truck thing is an inside joke :D I'm fine, and I have more gear than ever, I just haven't been using it as much lately.
