In all honesty, it's still exercise! I prefer running outside because it's not as boring and I think it's a bit more of a workout since you have hills, wind and the like but treadmills are fine.

jjsole: you should see the whole tape. I cut out the really bad sections. My mother likes to cheer while she's taping and forgets to aim the camera, so a typical race video has a few shots of me running interspersed with trees, the ground, the sky, random people, the lens cover and more.

grohl, glad to hear your legs are better.

RKS: I watched the Philly marathon last year and saw the Kenyans come through the 6-mile mark. They looked like they were jogging but they came through in under 30 minutes!

Congrats on the win and the NPB.

BTW, I empathize with how you felt after the race. Your mother's camera work made me want to hurl.

Yes. I run on treadmills at work occasionally and it's pretty different. The road is harder and WAY more fun.

no, you'r gonna get the benefit of exercising. As mentioned you avoid the wind and inclines/declines but you also save some wear and tear on your knees/ankles.

BTW if you do run outside, try to avoid sidewalks. Running on asphalt is easier on your knees.
