I WON ANOTHER XBOX360 + A LOT MORE!! The HEX168 contest!!!

Here's the deal. They announced the winners yesterday. I was a finalist and not a winner, and was pretty disappointed, considering I was #13 from #1 when the contest voting stopped, and judges started to decide. They changed the rules at the last second. At first, the top voted 120 would go onto the finalists, and they would pick 60 out of that to win. But the rule change stated that because of people cheating by getting their votees up, they were going to now manually judge all 1540 entries.

So yesterday, I look and I'm a finalist, and there are 60 winners. So instead of winning the grand prize, i had an invitation to the Zero Hour launch event in the mojave desert, only I needed to provide my own transportation there.

After looking at the winners list, about 13/60 winners clearly broke the rule - they used a third party image. A picture of "the worlds ugliest dog" won. There were a bunch of other ones that you see all over the internet that won. So on forums people were pissed. So I emailed them links to ALL the third party images found elsewhere on the net, and communicated w/them a lil bit. The hex people told me that all of the winners were still being investigated for these types of situations, and thanked me for providing the links to them.

So today when I get home from lunch, I check my email and have a winning email, and all i have to do is fax em an affidavit and w9 form and pending it all goes through, I WIN!! THen now they JUST updated the winners board. 11/13 of the "cheated" images were removed from the winners board! My detective work paid off greatly!!

So here is what I won ...

A Microsoft Xbox 360 gaming console, three Xbox 360 game titles

(Perfect Dark Zero, Project Gotham Racing 3 and Kameo: Elements of Power) , a one (1) year membership to Xbox LIVE, and a three day/two night trip for the winner to an Xbox 360 event.

The event will begin on November 20 and ends on Tuesday, November 22.

Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of Grand Prize: $1,500.

Hahah I'm so excited! I'm glad they didn't let the cheaters prosper! It clearly stated in their rules you have to have original work, and that submitting third party images (altering them or not) is not original work! So I do not feel bad at ALL for ridding the winners board of these cheaters and providing them URL's to all the stolen images!!

I'm going to keep the hex package and sell my e10m one on ebay. Then when at the launch party, I'm going to purchase another 360 there to ebay because apparently Best Buy is having a truckload of them there for party goers to purchase, so we don't have to worry about getting them in stores.

I think luck was on your side with the Hex168 contest. The judges could have said forget it, and not even bothered with the investigation. So congrats on that. You got lucky a second time with the e10m xbox. Congrats again. You went through great lengths to get your xbox, BUT now it seems like seems like you'll do anything for a profit. don't be so greedy...

OMG i cant believe you guys lol. I, along with MANY others, whined to the judges because 25% of the winners clearly broke rules and cheated, and the response we got was that they weren't "officially" winners yet and they were still being reviewed.

Why should cheaters win when others worked hard to create original work and be screwed by people who used google for 2 mins and ended up winning? thats not fair either.

I didn't "plan" on ebaying them until I won this one. now I'm going to ebay my extra one from e10m. I am definitely keeping the one I win from hex168, so I'm not even using the ones you voted for to "benefit" from. If I even make $$ off of this, its going towards my GF's little brother's ticket to Nicaragua next march cause he's only 14 and can't afford it himself. So don't give me that crap like you all even know what I'm going to be doing w/the 360's or the $$.
