The coffee vending machine gave me back my money and the word "WINNER" kept blinking off and on the digital display. I've never really won anything before.
Even free this stuff still tastes like it was filtered through unwashed socks.

That's just the machine's polite way of saying "This stuff is old and stale and I really need to brew more so I'll just give away this swill for free to some schmuck and make him think he's special".
