<< Edit: In my experience, the only attractive girls at walmarthave always been jailbait. The ones I could legally date are usually a bit scary. >>

yeah that's what I hear, but Wal-Mart is only a few years old in Canada, and I think pretty much everyone there is "normal." It's not like it's a magnet for people who can't find another job. I have a few friends who work there, or used to work there.

<< Dang you earned points with the cute girl, stopped a shoplifter without lifting a finger AND got a free $20 GC. Pretty cool. >>

yeah, unrelated story but this same chick is actually going to the same college that I am going to this fall. (i was talking to her for a bit, this only happened about a month ago)....small world eh? so she said she'll look for me there :Q oh, and I immediately spent that GC

and now i see why they have so many securtity strips on DVDs now... I couldn't believe when he pulled like a dozen DVDs out of his pocket and apparently no one noticed

Yep, it's pretty bad. They're so high priced that people steal them for resale, but one of the reasons they're high priced is because of theft. You definatly did the right thing. 12 DVDs are worth at the very least, $150. And I bet he would have taken more. I doubt he was using these for his "personal collection"

he probably was using them for his personal collection:p a sad collection at that since dvds without their cases just aren't kewl.. and don't sell on ebay etc. i knew a guy that used to get dvds, only for himself, and with cases of course. :p

I witnessed a high speed police chase, does that count?

I was coming home from going out or something late one night (about 1am) and was exiting the highway in a remote suburb of Atlanta (at that point, it was essentially rural). I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a car's headlights approaching me. I glanced back at the road in front of me then looked in my rear view again, and the lights were almost on top of me (really, it only took a second or three). I quickly pulled to the side, and this little Japanese sedan (Nissan, I think) goes FLYING by me and takes the turn off the exit at about 45 MPH. About five seconds behind him there was a Georgia State Patrol Mustang chase car who took the same turn and spun out -- gotta hate those damn Mustangs! He quickly recovered and sped off in pursuit.

Never did find out what happened, but it was quite exciting since the road home both before and after was basically deserted. :)

I was at the Chicago Motor Show last year, looking at all the new cars being released soon. I also wanted to see some of the cool experimental cars. When I was looking at a Mitsubishi, I saw a young kid steal the radio from the car! Surprised me, and he got away pretty quickly so I never ratted him out.

I once stole as a matter of necessity... you see when I lived on campus the laundry room is across the damn campus... so you hafta walk a long ass way to clean your clothes. So my philosophy was that when the clothes were dirty enough to walk themselves to the laundry room... I would wash them... :p

Well on one such occasion when they were at this level of funkiness, when I had no clean clothes left at all... and that means all levels of cleaness... as in.. I could not wear anything without gassing myself... (i'm much cleaner now.. but this was freshman year afterall)..

Here's a run down of laundry costs... 75cents to wash 1.00 to dry... I Had 2 bucks to my name... starving student and a half... and the damn laundry detergent was like 4 bucks!... so.... I picked the box up, and calmly walked out of the store without paying....

Does this qualify under starving people stealing bread.... or am I a hardened criminal? LOL :p

LOL I dunno I think by stealing that laundry detergent you relieved those people around you of smelling your 'funkiness' so no you're not a hardened criminal.

Probation for 2 years should suite the crime just fine!

I'm not sure if it was a robbery or not, but about two months ago, I saw the end of something at the Steak & Shake on Madison's East side.

I was driving down the street in front of it when I was stopped by police barricades a block or so back. While I was sitting there, about a half dozen cops (probably one fourth of the Madison PD) surrounded the S & S and pulled their weapons. A minute later, this guy came out with a duffel bag and his hands in the air and the cops swarmed him and took him down. One of them came up with the duffel bag and pulled out a rifle and a big white bag of something.

It was very interesting - my adrenaline was pumping, I can just imagine what the cops' was doing.
