I thought they only played MSG for Old Friends? Or are you talking about the Central Park Concert from the 80s?

Nope, it was a world tour. They played all over the place. I can't find a tour schedule, but I know I was very excited about going to see them in Philly...until I saw the ticket price.

Well yeah, it was a world tour, but they only played at MSG in NYC, not in the park.

I saw them with the wife. It was very expensive for crappy seats, but we really enjoyed it.

OTOH, I recorded their reunion performance at the Grammies. I will say that while I loved it when I saw that performance, subsequent listenings made me realize how bad Art's voice (and to some extent, Paul's) had gotten. He truly doesn't have the range anymore.

You're correct; I didn't mean to imply that they played Central Park during the tour.

Gotcha. Thought it would be kind of hard for me to miss that. 😛

Same here, GF and I would have loved to have gone... but we just couldn't justify the price of not one, but TWO tickets.

BAH! Let the past be the past and enjoy it for what it is. Too often these days people seem to want rehashes of the same stuff that we have been listening to, watching or otherwise indulging in from years gone by. The problem is that when we get what we want it hardly ever results in what we had when we got it the first time. It's like all the stupid reunion shows on TV. They can never capture the chemistry, angle, or whatever it was that excited us in the past. Usually it comes across clumsy, stupid, and a waste of time.

Nostagia is not the same as it once was.

"I know a man whose brain's so small, he can't think of nothing at all.
Not the same as you and me - he doesn't dig poetry.
He's so unhip, that when you say 'Dylan,' he thinks you're talking 'bout Dylan Thomas....whoever he was.
The man ain't got no culture.
But it's alright, ma. Ev'rybody must get stoned!"

Some of the better poets of the latter 20th century.
