I wish there was a middle floor in my house

You know, somewhere to put all the furniture and electronics.

It wouldn't be at ground level, so it wouldn't flood. It wouldn't be the top floor, either, so stuff wouldn't get wet or blown away when the roof is torn off.

Like a nice middle ground. A happy medium.

I guess we need a three story house.

I'm going to try to get pics/video of the storm. I was going to set up a webcam (turns out my dad has an old one), but I figure we're going to be without power for most of the storm.

how about a house with a basement, or a 2 story with walkout basement? those are pretty popular here, and the "middle" floor is about 5' above ground level.

Yeah, that sounds good. I like houses like that. I don't think you can have a basement here, though. Too wet or soft or something?

Which reminds me I need to drain a foot or so out of the pool tomorrow.

I have a thing for houses with big attics, just so much potential with the extra space. Unfortunately there are'nt any like that in my area. When I was in Ohio late last year my wife and I looked at a few homes out there and some of those places had really nice attic setups. One family had a kick-ass home theatre, another had pentagon type setup (lots of PCs and high tech looking stereo equipment)
