I wish the G8 would have existed for more years than it did

Manual. I've grown up driving stick (from a 3000GT to C5 Corvette) so I'm familiar with it. It was her first manual car, though she's owned a R6 for enough years to understand the fundamentals of proper clutch work so I probably won't be repairing anything anytime soon (I hope). About the only bad habit she had was hovering her foot over the clutch and pressing it in slightly at all times but she got over that pretty fast (minutes, actually!).

dude, ur woman rides a streetbike? thats just... wow, so awesome

Differences in opinion, I'd prefer to have her riding bitch on my ZX10 with her tits pressed against my back and her butt hanging out for all to see. =(

Quite the contrary. She used to all the time, it's just become far less frequent now that she has her own wheels. Let that be a lesson to any man who thinks it's a good idea to get a woman her own bike - it'll end up backfiring a little!

When I first met her I had a gray 636. I had a spare helmet for a friend who was supposed to be picking up his girlfriend that night and we were leaving a Shakesphere on the Green showing (really well-performed and classy public theatre production company that performs at a local college campus, I've tried to go every year because the performers who come in are extremely top-notch) and her and her friends happened upon us purely by accident as we left. She was wearing a halter, skirt(+thong), and thankfully decent boots and pretty much begged for a ride. I took off my jacket and put it on her and we rode around town for a few hours until we got pulled over. The LEO told me that he pulled me over just to shake my hand and asked that she tuck the skirt in to prevent any potential accidents and let me go on my way with an indecent exposure warning (that I still have somewhere to this day).

She's a fun girl. I have very few complaints. At least she has good taste in gas guzzling combustion vehicles. I have some pictures of her on the 10, and her on her R6.. hell I think I have some of her driving my monster truck which is hilarious considering how little she is. Depending on how she's feeling tonight she might actually let me post them, haha.

Man. I didn't mean to derail this shit btw!

The GT is my daily driver, still as fun to drive as it was the day I brought it home. Actually a bit more with a few mods. A TCM tune makes the auto a whole different vehicle and by far one of the biggest seat of the pants noticeable changes. If the option for a manual in the GT was there I probably would of went that route, but now living with the auto (especially post-tune) I really have no complaints at all. The auto was actually quicker in straight line in everything I've seen, and from experiences of gxp auto/manual owners, since you get perfect shifts every time. It'll kick the rear out a bit on the 1-2 shift, and give a nice bark on the 2-3 shift which is at about 70mph. Unfortunately I haven't gotten it to the track yet.

Better hurry if your looking for a new manual GXP, as what's in the states now is what's left for the G8 - either on dealer lots, or a few at cali port going to dealer lots. There were only about 1900 GXP's made and I think only around 30% of them were manuals.

Plenty of parts over here, but then the Commodore is our number one selling car 😉

Is the Commode going to continue to be made, m8? What about the coupe linked above? That's pretty sweet.

"The last time we looked at [the G8], we decided that we would continue to import it as a Chevrolet. It is kind of too good to waste," Lutz told the mag.

Not sure how GM saying they aren't bringing it back, but one person may cause them to possible think about it in any way equates to GM is bringing the G8 back. The odds still look extremely long at best.

THANK GOD!

edit: now i can get the G8 GT as my realistic dream car once again

I hope they decide to make it look meaner. That's rather bland looking.

I'm glad they are keeping the car alive.

Now, if they just brought it directly over from the boys down under looking exactly like THIS! I would like it the looks a LOT better.
