I wish I was more careful with my CD's

I'm trying to rip all my audio CD's into FLAC for backups, but I'm having problems with getting all the tracks on 7 of my 16 discs.

The ones that are damaged are ones that are really old that I bought as a kid. It still sucks though.

Should I try to rip the tracks that still work and forget the ones that dont work, or just go replace the CD?

Whatever you do while trying to polish out scratches, dont do it in a circle... go outwards from the middle of the CD to the outside...

You have a collection dating back to childhood and it's only 16 CD's? Man, if I hadn't lost all the CD's I bought as a kid up until now it'd probably be about 300 or so.
