I thought all the pennys from 1943 were steel. I think it might be rare but I don't know.

Found it yesterday and held on to it.

For gigles, last year I put a $75 bid on a roll of them on Ebay and lost to a $100 bid. Sold idividually you might finagle more. I love doing things like that. I bought 100 p4 mobo brackets back in 2004 for what came out to $1.77 shipped each and sold them for $10 shipped each. :shocked: They werent even for sale that way, I just kept bugging wholesalers until one relented and sold me a sh|tload.

Yeah. In 1943, copper prices to make a penny made the copper needed for 1 penny worth more than 1 cent, so they switched to part copper, but mainly steel. There was a mistake in some of the coin makers, and a few 1943 copper pennies were accidently made.
 
LOL. I wish I really did have one though. I remeber it was big news when that one sold in 2004. We started looking through every peeny in the house and then everywhere else!!
