I wish I could quit my job and sit around reading all day (what would you do if you quit working?)

Man if the day ever comes when I can finally afford to quit working I'd probably be at the library everyday, between books and video games I'd never be bored.

So what would your life be like if you did'nt have to work?

Well, assuming I could move, I'd probably play sax and bass fish. Mmm, that would be sweet.

Of course, I like to work, so I'm not miserable. I'll love it if I get my dream research job.

Maybe thats my problem, I need to find out what my dream job is. Because right now my current job is more of a nightmare, the work is not really that bad but the commute and the overall lack of interest is enough to put me in the grave. I think I'm developing ulcers I dislike it so much.

I've been there, trust me. I was News Director at our station for most of last year, and I hated it. My dream job is physics research. As long as I make enough money to live fairly well, I'll be happy if I love my job.

Redo the house, get another house and redo that one. Learn how to repair my own car. Play lots of games. Make my own music remixes. Maybe read some books.

All stuff that I would like to do, but never get a chance to right now.

my personal goal is to open a fishing/hunting lodge in Canada, but i know that will take lots of $. I also wouldn't mind just owning a small "homey" bar, and just running that everyday. I would still be working and would have something to fill up my time, but I think I would enjoy it.

Probably not a whole lot because if didn't have a job I wouldn't have a source of income. But if I had money I would probably play on the computer, sleep, eat, watch movies, take drugs, do stuff with friends.

You'll get your wish when you retire.

Most retirees find it extremely BORING.

I was off work Jan-July this year and all I could think of (from May on) was getting back to work (I did and am MUCH happier now).

:p

(and yes, the house and garden is much improved, the car spotless, many games played . . . I'd rather be working - at least part time)

Let's both quit and start a bookstore. :)

Actually my dream is to be a tenured professor in Literature, possibly poetry.
I've also given thought to being a research librarian, but it actually seems like a lot of work and not enough time to read. :)

Assuming I win the lottery....

Travel for a coupla years, then settle down somwhere (Pismo Beach most likely) and open a pet store or a neighborhood bar.

If you guys need a 3rd person to join in the bookstore venture, let me know. ;)

I'd probably sit around and read books all day, listen to music, work on my (probably never to be finished) book, sleep and play games.
