I will never understand the stupidity of ebay buyers.

Can someone please explain to me the reason for this?

People are bidding between $20-$30 for the Zelda Ocarina of Time bonus disc on ebay. I ordered my Zelda WindWaker and OOT from Amazon the other day for $56 total (with tax & shipping).

Hundreds of buyers paying 25 dollars for an outdated, FREE game. Why? I'm probably going to sell mine too if these idiots want to pay so much for it.

Exactly. People are willing to pay whatever for an item they like. I don't call people who spend $100 on a baseball card stupid...it's just something they like.

the Kmart over here was selling those disks for a penny. a friend of mine picked up quite a few. I know he sold a nunch on ebay. not sure on the final price though.

I buy and sell on eBay all the time. Yes, buyers are willing to pay some prices I'd NEVER pay. But then, I have an inside track like this forum.

On the other hand I got all the brass hardware I needed for my remodelling kitchen job for only $3 plus shipping. Less than 5% of retail. Pretty amazing. The deals are there - just gotta look for 'em!

It totally depends upon the buyer's thinking/needs/priorities.

Why would anyone pay, say $ 25 for an item " Buy it now" rather than wait for 2 days and (based on past sale history for similar products) get it for $ 20?

Sometimes, as a seller, I have received interesting questions/ comments from buyers that helped my realize that different people have different needs. And that doesnt make them stupid.

Of course, I would call a bidder stupid if s/he bought a used item for amount X when I was selling a new item for 80% of that price!

When the same item can be had at one of the most popular online retailers and several others for free, then I consider it stupid to pay $25 for it.

I love ebay...where else could I sell my 1 year old GTA3 for $47 when I bought it used for $25. 😕

Stupid VERSUS Ignorant

I think people who call eBay Buyers "Stupid" need to take a look at themselves and why they choose to belittle others and apply labels to them.

Someone could easily call YOU stupid for any number of things that you do. Ebay is a marketplace where people are free to bid and pay as much as they want for an item. There have been time when on eBay I have paid $5 extra ($50 vs $45) for a Buy it Now item b/c I needed the item in a relatively speed fashion or when I have paid $10 more for an item b/c the person I was buying it from had a feeback rating of 100 with no negatives vs 40 with ten negatives.

Things aren't as simple-minded as you make them out to be. Also, some people don't have the time to sit here on the Hot Deals forum and scout out deals all day long. Some people are just used to using eBay. They type in something they are looking for, find it, then bid on it.
