While I agree with not pandering to any special interests, and not pushing personal goals over constituant (sp?) wishes, the ignorant and anti-american stance taken by the majority of politicians with regards to gun rights needs to be addressed...I'll do so by NOT voting for Kerry and suggesting strongly that those I come into contact with do the same.

Appreciate the info though...with so many democratic candidates it's good to be able to cross them off and narrow the field.

So you are saying he should pander to the extremist NRA for personal or polical expediency?

You know Cad, if you really are just "trying to get the information out" about the democratic candidates, you might try posting postive stuff too. When you only post negative, you appear to have ulterior motives. I'm sure that's not the case though. :p

Yes, it's quite revealing how Cad only posts negatively about the democratic candidates, while never doing so regarding Bush. I think the overwhelming trend is obvious. ;)

Actually I think I almost defended Dean in that other thread;) You know - the one that DM and some other's are trying to turn into a racism issue;)
And actually I don't see how this topic is "negative". I'm glad J.F.Kerry is claiming that he doesn't like all the pandering to "extreme" organizations for political gain;) Now if he'd just follow through with that stance..;)

Also, who cares what my motives are - I see Bush being chided daily and I think that my informative threads about positions and the goings on of the candidates (who supposedly are going replace him) are very much needed:)

I got more "info" though:D

I take issue with how many of the democrats view the second amendment. It is the single greatest difference I have with them. Unfortunately, there are few in power who would oppose Bush and support gun ownership. That's too bad from my POV

I didn't realize that many Democrats are against gun ownership. I thought it was more a matter of handgun registration, better background checks, and more checks and balances in the purchasing process.

Where does dean stand on guns I know in vermont he didn't pass any gun laws but I don't think that anyone ever tried to get any laws about guns passed.

The key to my statement was those in power, specifically those who are looking for national office. Very often they are supportive of groups which want to go far beyond registration. That is my caused for concern. I haven't yet heard one seriously support the second amendment. I am willing to be corrected if wrong about this.
