Calories are energy, without calories you have no energy, and without energy you die. Vitamins and minerals do not provide energy, they only keep body processes running normally.

I have an aunt that practically lives on vitamins. She takes like 4000mg of vitamins twice a day. It's ridiculous. She also only wears sundresses and talks as if she took a few too many hits of acid in the 70s. I call her the hippie. My mom said that during the 70s the hippie was into all that, so it doesn't surprise me. Oh, she also sleeps on her patio. Every night. She has a bedroom, but she chooses to sleep on the patio. She's also against advil and tylenol and that she hasn't had a headache in 20 years. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that she just hasn't felt the headaches cause of all her "supplements." Last time she was here she wanted to take my entire family to a natural foods store and get all of us on the "why-eat-normal-when-I-can-just-take-a-vitamin-for-everything" plan. :roll:
