If they wanted to get more people to run for office, it's already working!

The way I see it, as soon as this becomes law, I can start my campaign in 2003. I can earn this dough all the way until November 2004. By then I would have earned over $700,000. That should hold me until the next round of elections. So even IF I lose, its a win win for me. If I run low on cash, I can run for some Senate or House seat in between the presidential elections.

Why don't we be presidential running mates and pool our resources together?

I guess I would need a running mate. Although the VP only makes $192,000. but I can float you a loan if you need more.

Yeh but that's $192k before graft, bribes and illegal gifting, so it's fine with me.

I love America! The money making potential of this deal is endless. BTW, I wonder where the rest of ATOT is.

My next trick is an informercial teaching you how you can make up to $200,000 by just getting a lot of people's signatures and then begging special interest groups to buy your support. I'm already working on the script.

Once I get my fist paycheck I will buy a ten acre farm. I will then divide it up into 40 quarter acre smaller farms then apply for subsidies on each farm. Better yet I will make them tobacco farms and get subsidies for not planting any tobacco.

Keep them coming. At this rate we will only have to go though one election and we will be millionaires.

Yes! Collect the subisidies AND collect mad amounts of cash from the anti-tobacco lobbies.
Then when election time comes allow big tobacco to woo you back to their side.

Meanwhile, I'm selling the tape of the infomercial to schmos on Ebay and working on my sequel: "How to get out of traffic tickets by becoming a foreign ambassador."

Yes, but you still have to convince people to DONATE to your campaign fund.. what's going to be your platform? Feeding your 10 hungry kids?

This idea to me seems more like a way for the people already in power to garner more money and not let 'regular' people break into politics.

We're going to sell planks each week on Ebay.
Whoever bids the highest gets to donate that amount of money to us in exchange for us "officially" supporting that plank.

So the plank is "abortion rights."
The Christian Coalition bids $150k.
I guess we're pro-life today.

Next week, Planned Parenthood bids $300k in our auction next week.
Did I mention that rudder and I feel that abortion is every woman's choice?

:D
