Life gave her a sh!tty deal? WTF? She's a millionaire supermodel! The only reason she's gonna die sooner than some ppl is cuz she was a fvcking moron and screwed ppl without protection.

All the damned money in the WORLD won't help you if you're gonna die before your time because of a disease, Sparky. And if you had any brains in your head, or the ability to comprehend short sentences with definite verbs and nouns, you'd know that she allegedly got Hep C when she shared a tattoo needle with Tommy Lee. Had nothing to do with having sex. But thanks for playing. Next time pull your head out before you start speaking.

She can die tomorrow, I would probably not care. Won't affect my life in any way at all. Probably won't affect the lives of anyone I know.

isn't suzanne summers doing something similiar w/her cancer a couple of years ago? she went the alternative medicine way to treat cancer.
Somers' cancer was diagnosed in an early stage. She underwent surgery to remove the lump and received strong daily radiation for several weeks, but refused chemotherapy in favor of Iscador, a compound made from mistletoe extract which is known to have some immune-system boosting effects.

Somers would probably be a good candidate for the surgery and radiation alone without chemotherapy due to the early stage of her cancer and the much lower chance that cancer cells have migrated to other parts of the body.

However, even though the risk of recurrence is low if caught and treated early, it is still a real risk and chemotherapy can reduce recurrence by as much as 50% over 15 years. As good as chemotherapy has become these days with greatly reduced risks of serious side effects compared with just 10 years ago, Somers is a fool not to have opted for it. Its a proven (though not guaranteed) measure of added assurance and with cancer one needs all the help they can get.

Well that is good to know. Wouldn't want anyone I don't know to care anyways.

She will if she relies on 'holistic practitioners' who made a 'special remedy just for her'. When are they going to start throwing these contemporary snake-oil salesmen in prison.
Why in the world would someone ever share a tattoo needle? That is by far the most unsanitary thing I have ever heard of.
She married and had a kid by Tommy Lee from Motley Crew.

What more do you have to know?

I would most likely be dead by now if it were not for a "holistic practicioner" who catered to my specific medical needs (using both allopathic and naturopathic medicine) rather than just giving me a drive-through diagnosis and a 1-drug-1-dose-fits-all remedy.

Both holistic and allopathic medicine fields have their snake oil salesmen, and both have their honest, hardworking practicioners.

Yes.

At what point do you care when a person dies? What are the factors that come into play?

So much silicon...such a waste,

Hepatitis C? Curable? It is a virus, and we have yet to cure ANY virus.

Actually you are incorrect. Treatment with combination thereapy can cure (and I do mean cure) between 1/2 and 2/3 thirds of Hep C. It has to be used faithfully, and has side effects. One has to work at completing the treatment.

I didn't say it would. Pay attention.

So? The point is that she still brought it upon herself. Life didn't "give her a sh!tty deal" like you said. You're an idiot if you think sharing needles with ppl is just a fact of life. If you get Hepititis C from playing with other ppl's needles then your a fvcking moron. Don't sit there and plaintively whine about how "life" has treated you so badly. It would've been your own fvcking fault.

Original.

Hep C is a virus...you are never cured...you always carry the virus once you have it. But you may carry it at such a low level that is essentially dormant.

Techniques for detecting viral titer are so well developed, that a few particles can be detected. The Division of Infectious diseases at Mass General Hospital looked at the results of treatment, and found zero virus. Subsequent followups demonstrate zero titer time after time. These people do not have the virus. Their conclusion (and that of other infectious disease specialists) is that these people are indeed cured. It has been hard to teach others what "everyone" knows, but we are making progress.

Yep in this case, Hep C.

A reasonably concise site oh Hep C

Anderson will probably die from this. She is choosing to do so. I see that she is refusing effective treatment. Too bad for her.

Sure, some of the snake oil salesmen got lucky and managed to actually treat an illness now and again, too (between killing people or taking their money). Turpentine-based "Micracle Elixirs" were great for stuff like intestinal worms and parasites, though they had no clue what they were doing.

Naturopathic/holistic medicine has scored some notable treatment successes through a lot of trial and error over the centuries, but hell a broken clock is right twice a day. Random chance dictates you've got to do something right once and a while if purely by accident and in spite of yourself.

This is not to say that conventional medicine is perfect, we still have a lot to learn. But if allopathic medicine has a lot to learn, naturopathic medicine is still stuck in the 1800's by comparison.

As was already posted, you have your head up your ass.
It was her personal choice to do drugs, therefore it wasn't any deal from life that led to this, unless you count her stupidity.
