I went to Taco Bell for dinner and...

My order came to $8.08. I handed the cashier $10.10 expecting $2.02 back in change. I thought that it was kind of cool the way that it worked out until the cashier handed me a dollar bill and some odd change. I told him that this wasn't right. My bill was $8.08 and I handed him $10.10 and I am supposed to get $2.02 back. This guy had the same blank stare on his face that GW had during the Presidential debates. The register was probably telling him what to give me back, so what was so difficult to figure out here? Do schools teach simple math these days?

Anyway..........

the sad truth is...not the most intelligent people operate your fast food restaurants. we are usually paid by our intelligence in society. but there's some exceptions...or i could be wrong.

came home with a bad case of the $hits?!
Nah.. It was a drive-through order and I brought it home to eat it. You might be right about the sh*ts thing though. 😉

I can't believe I have 4 replies already. I just hit submit and refreshed it. How many people are on this forum?

You should see the stupid 60yr old grannies that works at the food registers at the highschool I went to
I ordered a fish sandwich for $1.50 and some fries for $0.75
She was frantically writing it down on a paper bag trying to calculate that. 5+0 + 7+5 carry one...
She's been working there for years too and yet she can't calculate that 1.50 + .75 = 2.25 in her head.

The cash register computes the change, Dufus probably punched in the wrong numbers.

What's tragic is that in the end I don't think that he believed me. He just handed me the $2.02 to get me out of his hair. He made me feel like I was using the Jedi mind trick on him or something. Maybe I should've asked for $5 back. 😉

I was at wendy's a few days ago, and ordered a #4. (yummy!) It was $4.83 so I have the cashieer $5.08. I got a wierd ass stare when i gave him that. Like, "WTF are you doing? Gimme $5". Then he put it into the regsiter, and you could see the light come on in his head, and go "wow, a quarter. that was pretty cool."

Idiots.

I do that all the time... and it always takes them a little while to figure out why... which is weird since all they do all day is give change. 😕

That happened to me at Mcdonalds. My order came out to be $5.15 and I gave the guy $10 and a quarter so I woun't have to break a dollar. He gave me back my quarter and broke my dollar.
