*I* went to see The Last Samurai last night.

And just want to say that, there's nothing about this movie that I can complain. It was so much better than what I anticipated, and that's a lot to say about a movie.

Actually, I can still raise a question, how come the American Captain still lives after the last battle?

The action was great. Cool sword fighting action. I wish they showed more about the history and culture of the Samurais.

The American Captain was the hero. So many battles and he would never die. That part was a little too far out.

Nevertheless, this is one of the few movies I wouldn't mind seeing again.

hehehe.... I didn't put it it the title... hehehe.... 😛

Here's another spoiler, they put a small army INSIDE the Horse in Troy :Q

.... and another: Your lives suck, and then you die.

I can complain and say it was one of the most predictable movies I've ever seen. How could a movie-goer not predict Tom Cruise would a) Join the Samurai. B) Hook up with the wife of the slain Samurai. C) Wear the armor of the slain Samurai. D) Have some cheesy scene where he helps the Samurai Commander kill himself. Totally saw every bit of this coming a mile ahead

There is no freaky way Tom Cruise's character could do the things he did in the period of time alloted.

Yeah, that's what I heard from my boss, who has been studying Akido for 12 years...

I enjoyed it a lot. It's just a movie for gods sake.

Predictable? Honestly its not making itself as a thriller. Just a nice not overly done action film. (Has there ever been a non-predictable action film? Guy gets beat up. GUy wants to save girl. DOnt like each other. Guy and girl have sex. Guy saves the day. The end.)

**** SPOILER*********

Only thing I didn't like is that TOm Cruise really needed to die. I mean he only got shot by a gattling gun a few times, and miraculously everyone else dies except for him. Of course the next day he only has a slight limp. WTF?

why watch any movie? i mean, the movie wasn't classified as mystery, it's a fvcking action/drama flick. how many action and drama movies have you watched that weren't somewhat predictable?

yeah, it would have been more effective if he also killed himself. the original ending wasn't all that great.

For a person who served in the US calvary and was a Medal of Honor winner, his military tatics against the artillary were lousy.

If the guns were being pulled across some mountain passes, why not intercept them before they could come into play.

The Euorpean style of combat vs guerilla style.

decent movie, lousy logic.

The movie was doing great until the last sequence. It kinda contradicted itself so it can end in the Hollywood style. Kinda pissed me off cuz it was doing just fine up until that point.

I thought the music was good. Kudos to Hans Zimmer

--I 'acquired' all of Zimmer's music. Good stuff. --

I also thought the movie was very good. It did a great job developing the actors and even a better job by captivating me in the samurai environment, traditions, and their livelihoods.

Al though, it was a little over dramatized in some scenes and the head popping , I thought, got a little cheesy. It also reminded me of the movie, "The Patriot" , but with Tom Cruise and Japanese soldiers. In which case, it's not necessarily a bad thing, just a observation.
