I wasn't the slightest bit impressed. The 3d parts of Superman were annoying. I had a horrible seat and the little kids around me kept on talking and laughing. The size of the screen wasn't that big a deal. I dont think it was worth the xtra money.

You have to go see a movie made for IMAX. You shouldn't see the movies made for the theatre.

I know cause I went to Michael Jordan To The Max, Fantasia 2000, and this one mountain climbing movie. It was totally amazing.

you should go to the one in Oregon- at OMSI-
Its a huge dome- there is no screen- you are just surrounded by amazing looking video.
But like the other poster said- see a movie made for Imax.
I've been to IMAX's w/ screens and its not nearly as breath taking IMO

imax movie called "everest" - pretty nice IMO...like one of the posters said, you have to go see one of the movies made for imax, not the refilmed/replayed in imax crap movies...

The MOSI IMAX dome in Tampa is one hell of an experience, the whole thing is just one huge gigantic screen, like what Kyle's talking about.

i've seen Jane Goodall's Wild Chimpanzees and Kilimanjaro To The Roof of Africa in an IMAX theatre. those are movies made for IMAX, and i really enjoyed them both.

I second the motion. My family & I (8 people) are IMAX year pass holder for 2 consecutive years and we love the Nature shows that are made for IMAX.

i remember the imax in DC. a screen is not as god as a dome. saw a movie aout reefs in a dome theater in france. amazing. in order to enjoy imax, you need to see a movie made for it.

Dome screen = Omnimax

I prefer 3D & star shows in an Omnimax format over IMAX, and the rest of the natural shows in IMAX format.

Go watch true IMAX material, it's a totally different experience.

Seeing standard movies on an IMAX screen is essentially a waste, any "Wow" factor from the screen size is MORE than overshadowed by the terrible image geometry that inevitably results from forcing rectangular material onto a dome.

Native IMAX material, however, is amazing.

The IMAX presentation of major hollwood films is far superior to any 35mm or digital presentation. While it will most likely never be quite as good as a movie filmed on actual 70mm/15perf film it is still pretty damn good once their computers get done working it over.

I've seen a lot of movies in both standard 35, digital, and IMAX. IMAX wins for quality.

sadly when most imax movies come out i always put them off, and then before i know it they are through with their release. missed MJ to the Max and that recent one about going into space. too bad.

saw pearl harbor (the crappy movie) on imax, was not a particularly great experience.

Been to about 3 imax theaters and seen a bunch of movies.. The one in Caesars Palace in Vegas for example is small and total crap and even has/had a big brown stain on it. HOWEVER, when you get a good one, and you watch an IMAX film, it's really really amazing!!
