I went over the limit on my credit card

My credit limit is $1000 but I spent $1100. Will this affect my credit a lot even though it happened just once? How long will it take to get my credit score higher?

When is your first statement since the purchase due or did you already receive the statement and pay the minimum or something?

If you haven't received the statement since your purchase, you should pay enough to bring your balance below your credit limit keeping in consideration the finance charge that will be accrued for your next statement.

you just have to pay the overlimit fee and don't do it again for a while, like no more than 2 times a year or something, but paying $29 or whatever your overlimit fee should persuade you to not do it again

they'll charge a fee. if you call in you can probably get it waived and increase the limit. don't worry about credit score.

my thoughts exactly. they view people who never make mistakes as deadbeats, because they never make money from them.

They make plenty. They make money from merchant transaction fees everytime you use the card.
