I watched Kingdom of Heaven today...

is the simple fact that in the battles that quite a few "Arabs" were friggin Mexicans! I'm not sure if the general population can tell, but when I watch "Arabs" climbing the towers and I take a look at them and they look like their native language is Mexican Spanish....there is a big problem 😉
250 million Arabs and they decide to cast Mexicans in the roles of Arab soldiers?!

I guess it is...there are some little fibs and streching the truths in certain areas, but I would say its the fairest movie produced thus far by Hollywood in the past twenty years~

And again for emphasis, if any of you plan to be directors of movies and will include Arabs...please use Arabs, not Mexicans 😉

Yeh, I need to see this movie. And yeh, I'll be pissed if I see Mexicans playing as Arabs.

In the great words of Chris Rock:
I went to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade this year.
They didn't have enough lndians for that shyt.
They had a bunch of Pilgrims.
When it came time for the Indians,
they had three real lndians...
and the rest was a bunch of Puerto Ricans
with feathers in their hair.
What the fvck!

Shyt, I know Puerto Ricans when I see them.

You can't slip a Puerto Rican by me.

That's not Pocahontas,
that's Jennifer Lopez!

I wasn't expecting much when I rented this movie, in fact I thought it was going to kind of suck. But it was a good movie I thought. My only complaint was Orlando Bloom's character seemed to be hastily introduced at the beginning. And we don't really have any idea why he's already so good with weapons. I realize he was a blacksmith and therefore had some experience with them, but didn't most blacksmiths back then mostly just shoe horses?

I am afraid you lose.

With the approval of King Mohammed VI of Morocco, the filmmakers hired 1500 Moroccan soldiers as extras.

Morocco is right next to Spain, which is the root of the Spanish language... Spanish is spoken by Mexicans... therefore, Moroccans are really Mexicans.

That is my logic.

I didn't care for the movie one bit. It actually just pissed me off more than anything. If the main character wouldn't have been so freakin' moron the movie would have been much better.

Well history would show that your logic is wrong. There were many battles fought in Spain between the Arabs and the Christians. In fact, Spain has a sizeable Islamic population even today. Back in the day, the Muslim cavalries would go up from Morocco, across the Strait of Gibraltrar to Spain to fight.

So in fact, Moroccons have nothing to do with the Spanish culture.

And so are you going to see "Memoirs of a Geisha" knowing that the three female leads are all Chinese? (Michelle Yeoh is from Malaysia but of Chinese ancestry)

Theres a difference between Mexicans and Moroccans.

Ive been to Spain, Mexico and Morocco.

Moroccans are a little darker skinned and haired then Spanish people. On occasion you will see blue eyed blonde haired Spaniards.

Mexicans are

60% are mestizo (part native American and white)
30% are native American
9% are white

the movie was decent, but the 10 year old looking orlando bloom definitely didn't sell me as a "soldier leader" type of guy ...
