I washed my IPOD shuffle. Although it looks fine, and it isn't wet, it isn't working. I hook it up to the computer and it shows it as "malfunctioned".

I only bought it from best buy 3 weeks ago. Any chance of exchanging it?

clearly your own fault that it doesn't work. Whether or not you want to rip off a company is up to you

mjuszczak, this is your test. Do you really want to rip off the company and allow this blemish to appear on judgment day? The choice is yours.

You are taking it too literally, you don't need to shuffle it in a washer to use it.

You might try opening it up and cleaning off the circuit board and all the other parts with rubbing alcohol. I think a lot of times water damage leaves mineral deposits on the board that shorts stuff out. Assuming this is the issue it's just a matter of cleaning it off.

At least it's worked on me when I've had PC watercooling mishaps. I don't know how detergent/hot water and all the other stuff factors in. I'd assume it was cold wash, though?

How many days has it been? 30 days money back guarantee works pretty nice if you forgot about it.

I knew a dude once who put his IPOD in the wash. He let it set for awhile, then put it in the microwave for 10 seconds....

good as new... you should try it....

In all seriousness, you can bake it in your oven for 10 minutes on the lowest setting (250 probably). It will help dry out the circuits, not sure what exactly to put it on though
