I was thinking about selling my 6800...*updated with pics*

I got the card for the "hype", and to see if I get lucky with a good one..

Indeed, I got a good one with everything unlockable and good overclockability to boot.

but after playing around with it for awhile.. I started to think I dont need the card.. I mean. yeah its great to play D3, HL2 and Farcry with everything to max... but I play starcraft and CS 1.6 mostly anyhow.. -_-;

So, I was thinking about selling it..

until... I played Farcry with HDR on.. omg.. to me its better looking than HL2 or D3. I didnt play through the game yet and just played 1 level with HDR on.. and its smooth as hell!!! cant believe that with my old 2100+XP..

^^* i guess I'll have to think more about sellin...

let me tell you it is even better in motion.. all the light and shadow working in realtime is great. scens get bright and dark from moonlight and clouds ^^*

and the steam and light working in pictures 3~6 is unbelievable!

sweet, what level of HDR did you have on, 7?

If its on 7, I doubt the resolution would be over 1024x768 for it to run "smooth as hell".

I finally just tried HDR mode. Didn't care for it. Played one level and took it off.

Mustang, I have an XP 2600 and the 6800 OC and I don't always get the smoothest frame rates in the games you mentioned with everything set to max. What resolution are you running in and what are the rest of your system specs?

it is on 7 ! although it is too bright at times.. I didnt get to play around with settings yet.

resolution is 1024 x768 🙂 my fps stays in between 30~ 70 both indoor and outdoors 🙂


my specs are...

1600+ o/c to 2100+ 1 gig of Ram. ECS k7s5a mobo (works great for me 🙂) 450w no name psu (i think this is holding me back from o/cing more from cpu and video card..) Seismic edge soundcard. 200gig WD special edition hdd.. mx 510 mouse .. hmm how do I take pics in that game?

but farcry with HDR just blew me away.

im running doom3 in 1024x 768 and HL2 in 1280 x1024.

HL2 runs great until I tried that Starship troopers mod.. omg.. even with everything turned down.. my computer just cant handle all that bugs...
