I just came from an old 2500+ with an SLK900 or whatever from Thermalright. All you had to do was simply clip the thing on.

... wow.

I am now running an E6600 with a Zalman 9700.

This thing was the biggest PAIN IN THE ASS to put on.

Why can't we just stick to clips? WHY!?!?!?!?!

Yeah. After doing my Xeon heatsinks, helping my wife with the SI-120 on her Opty 148 was a joy.

My temps are damned nice at 3 ghz.

See, I was never coddled with my Athlon XP setup, I had the 947u heatsink and that one required a backplate, and then had to be mounted with 4 spring loaded screws... the screws had to be put in the right order, and at the correct rate or I could have cracked the die.... Installing a 7000 AlCu in my friend's machine last night was a breeze by comparison
