It doesn't matter how much you fix up your civic/prelude/integra/accord. In the end, it'll still be a front wheel drive car.

Yo have you seen that 350Z commercial in the Movie trailers? They are racing through Prague. That is some hardcore ILLEGAL shiet dude, how did they pull that off?

anyways anyone know how it ends?

yeah i know. I also have my gripes about downtown (i ALWAYS get lost there. damn 1 way roads!)

Anyways, but the bars, the restaurants, the clubs... the CHICKS... come on, you dont like Sabas, sambucas, etc. etc.??

One day... one day we will get our metro light rail all over town, then we'll be the shiznit. We just need better public transport and houston will be awesome then.

Okay, so i saw Bond on Friday. There was a commercial of an orange 350Z. They start by showing the tachometer i believe. Then, they type at the bottom of the screen something like: "6:15 a.m., Prague, Czechslovakia" Then the car takes off. It is racing throught the streets of Prague, (UNCLOSED streets as far as i could tell), through construction work areas, traffic, running red lights, green lights, he breaks hard, busts a uturn, and takes off again, he's racing and then they stop the clip as soon as he is approaching (perpendicularly) two city buses, one going right, one going left. It looks as if the car is positioned to go around each bus, but they stop the commercial. They show the guy hits 127 on the mph at one point. At the end, there was, naturally, a MAJOR disclaimer, do not try this, this is professonals, blah blah blah.

I've worked downtown for 4 years now and I've never heard of these clubs. I've got a wife and two young'uns and go to school part time, so outside of that, I don't have a life. The high point of my social life happens when we get together with my brother-in-law and his wife for a night of Rook and booze.:)

Update: Just got a call from my relief that should have been here about 1.5 hours ago. She's about 15 minutes away, so I actually get to go home tonight. Sweet.

2) WE are the friendliest bunch (unless you cut us off and we have our 12ga. in the rear gun rack of our Chevy)
3) We have tons of restaurants, all kinds, and a lot that are good (BBQ mmm...)
4) We are improving (look at downtown now...)
5) We are diverse. I like being in a city where so many are different, it kinda makes me feel like we are not small townish/redneckish when you have so many different people, whats the word.. cosmopolitan? Dallas can't say that, neither can S.A. (yeah lot of minorities, but they're all Mexican), or Austin!

how could you forget houston has the best strip clubs in the country?! bah, i don't care. austin is still better:)

sorry if i made you feel old dude, but its all good. at least you have a woman. you have kids, you should be really happy. Well, if the bars and clubs aren't for you, you can always hit some nice restaurants and try all the different ones. According to letterman, houstonians eat out the most. I think w'ere probably also the fattest/happiest :)

Do you like eating out? Try Americas off of Post oak (Galleria area), great South American food. Hunan Garden post oak next to it has great chinese. Bombay Palace has good indian, the list goes on we have so many different types of restaurants... damn i'm hungry....

Okay. Austin is better in these aspects:

1) Quality of life
2) Natural Beauty
3) More politically concious/better educated inviduals IMO
4) Good live music scene
5) Good BBQ too
6) U.T.!
7) hot college girls

OKAY, yeah, i prefer living in AUstin, but Houston is HOME. And i will still say the people are more friendly in Houston. Also, we have more facilities and more shopping areas and .... and ... we have sports teams.

Yeah, I can't say I'm not pretty content right now. I'm in a comfortable groove with a tentative plan for the future. That's more than I could have said a couple of years ago.

I might try some of those restaurants soon. Know of any good ones on the NE side?

Austin is a college town though, so you can't really compare. In other words, Austin is far superior! There are fewer ricers AND SUVs in Austin too.

the roads in houston are better. The layout of the city is better too. The roads run in straight lines. Austin's roads are all over the place. And its a college town. Good for when you are IN college...

My thought exactly. And why is he a thug? Cause he had cornrows? And I don't know of too many people, white or black, who would not take exception to some pencil neck white guy, who is a total stranger taking pictures of their car. Your lucky he wasn't a thug. Cause if he was you would've gotten your tail kicked. And I am a bit concerned that you think its cool for you take pictures of people's cars. And you can get personal info from people's license plates. You can be some kind of sicko stalking people.

I don't know what part of Houston you live in but it's almost impossible to see a good stretch of road here.

Heh, I can't believe the security guard thinks it's illegal to take a picture of the car because you could find private information with the license plate. I'm pretty sure a person could write down any license plate numbers they wanted to just as easily and obtain that same "private information" if they really had the means and willpower to do so. No wonder he works as a mall security guard.
