... wow, I am so glad we got rid of nested quoting. At first I didn't like going without it, but now it seems absurd to wade through (literally) 2 full pages of nested quotes to view a single post.

On nested quoting I disagree. I would have preferred 5-6 quotes deep, with a dynamic link that I could click that would then load the rest of conversation were I so inclined.

Nested quotes was fine when people took the time to trim it to 2 or 3 levels max.

Now practically no one nests at all, even though sometimes its useful not having to jump from post to post to see the conversation play out.

I would prefer auto nesting with a limit of 2 levels. i.e. a quote within quote within a quote. vB's no-nesting by default is fine, though.

It's better this way - nesting is possible, but manual, so people only do it when necessary.

I hate only one nesting. It would have been ok if they limited to 2-3. It certainly could get out of hand because almost no one culls the unnecessary crap.
