I was pleasantly surprised on the highway today

Why would anyone get mad in this situation? The lights flashing thing is a known sign of "get out of my way please." It is a rare occurance to see someone nice on the road though.

Getting a little off tangent here, but I'm reminded of someone who was caught behind an erratically swerving vehicle on a two-lane stretch of the Autobahn. My dad encountered similar behaviour from a driver who was engaged in heated argument with his partner. Needless to say the vehicle in front is basically hogging both lanes.

First let's assume there's always a barrier separating the opposing traffic directions. Now, honestly, if the two-lane stretch were to continue for e.g. hours at the current rate, how many of you would:

a) flash headlamps etc. and attempt to overtake
b) maintain a safe distance and suffer in silence
c) call the cops, whether via a mobile or you had to stop by the roadside to use a public phone

?

If flashing to notify doesn't work, then I'd personally wait patiently until an opportunity arises then gun for it. Being emotional does not good for you or others as the decision you choose to make may put your life at risk.

It's Ip-sill-antee, BTW. The "Y" is silent.

I ..... the driver!

I made sure to smile and wave appreciatively as I passed by. It made my night! 🙂

I just spent the last 3 year in Ypsilanti, and I didn't know Michiganders knew what that meant. Then again, people in AA are a hell of a lot smarter.

Come closer. Let me hit you with my car.

j/k 🙂

Oh, come on, you're going to judge a whole state by a area which has two big universities? Do you know how many drunk, stoned, and just generally dumb (at least while driving) college students there down in Ypsi & A2? And addle-brained hippie professor freaks?

Come over here by Detroit, if you want to see how bad Michigan can really be 🙂
