I have been bidding on EBay on XP Hme and Pro Editions - WELL - today I received an EMail from someone that said they noticed I wanted to purchase one of above - and offered to sell me a COPY (FULL) of XP Pro for $25 and said it came with I think it's registration #.
I tried to forward this EMail to Microsoft so they might deal with this THIEF!

I'm responsible for WHAT I do - not what MS would do or not do! It does not matter IF they would do as you say - as they say, 2 wrongs don't make a RIGHT! It is NOT right to Support EVIL = and Stealing is EVIL whether it is from the RICH , Poor, or Middle Class. IT cannot be justified because one is stealing from a large Corporation. That is called "Rationalization"!

So you are responsible for what you would do... you are not responsible for what people on e-bay are doing. If some big scary man on the street were to offer you drugs.. would you yell "help, someone quick arrest this man, he's offering me contraband!!!!" .. I bet you wouldn't, because you would be face to face and you would be scared to because he'd probably shut you up real quick. Sitting at home infront of your computer you feel safe from the lowly criminals and thugs and you can cry to daddy Gates about it.

I don't believe in CHRISTmas, I worship the devil, so don't play alter boy with me. Have a happy Santa day and I hope you show how patriotic you are by shopping till you drop. Yay stock market!!!!

Stealing is wrong, very wrong. I don't condone stealing by anyone and I accuse corporatoins and the government of stealing too, so before you decide that little joe ebay is the real criminal, find out who's doing most of the stealing in this world.

A woman asked if I wanted a date while I was walking down the street.......

I put her under citizens arrest.

I can't figure out why I still can't get a date.....

if microsofot would only make it actually affordable to the average person, then less piracy would abound. (it would still be around, just not to the extent it is now)

generally, i pirate software, then buy it if i really like it and think its good software, im the same way with cd's, first i burn cd's, then if i like the band, ill buy the cd to support them.

Don't listen to these guys who are giving you grief-- you did the right thing. :) If that guy didn't want to get himself in hot water, he shouldn't have been pushing illegal copies of software.

People will pay $1500 to put together a new computer, and then balk at paying $200 for the operating system that they'll use every day. I used to do the same thing, until I realized how rediculous my rationalizations were. If you add up all the nifty little apps that are PART of Windows, $200 is a pretty small price to pay.

I think seeing stories like this is a good way to change the perception that piracy is OK. I feel great every time I see guys on this board flame someone who posts about warez -- it encourages me to think that things are moving in the right direction.

Good job cyberized,
Russ

In NO way did I originally share here about being offered a COPY of XP etc. - to "pat myself on the back!" BUT after being called a "RAT" several times here because of my actions I feel I must ask; "Would you consider me a RAT if I did something that led to the arrest of someone who stole your computer?"
You see, "WRONG is NOT RIGHT!" - - - In a "moral" society we are to look out for our neighbor's well being (physical and material) therefore, I believe, anyway, that I should do nothing to harm you or your family or your business; in fact I should try to prevent the same from harm. It's called "being a GOOD neighbor" NOT "being a tattle tale or a RAT" to help your neighbor when someone is trying to take advantage of him.
It all comes around believe me, "As YOU give - so YOU will receive", as they say, you must "pay to play", it is OUR choice how we choose to play - you could say. BUT before you call a person that is trying to assist his neighbor, a RAT, please, LOOK in the mirror! I have - and found the real enemy is ME!

Merry CHRISTmas!

Not supporting piracy here...just talking for the sake of debate...anyway,

you make a good point, however I wouldn't really consider MS my neighbor and I don't expect that they would do anything to help me. For example, how many software companies have had problems with their CD keys getting cracked, yet do nothing to assist their legitimate customers who can't play their game online because somebody stole their key? How much support does MS provide you for being honest and purchasing their product?

There is some need to compare the level of the crime too. To use your example, yes I would stop somebody trying to walk out of my neighbor's house with their stuff, but at the same time I would not call the cops if I caught my neighbor smoking weed in his back yard...would you????

Dude.....I bet you are the kind-a-guy that starts a bunch of sh*t in a bar and then leaves. You had to know that the responses you would get to this here would be varied and strong.

Cyberized - Don't pay attention to those losers that berate you. You did what you thought was right, that's more than most people do these days.
