-Well.. long story, but this guy I know from the old days, he was offering me the Motorola V60c for free with activation a month ago.

-He says nothing is wrong, brand new and completely free. I thought there was nothing that can go wrong since I'm not paying a cent and I know this guy from the old days.

-I ordered a month ago, he said he sent the package a week and a half ago, but I got the package today. The mail was sent from an return/exchange fulfillment center in Texas. I checked the date it was sent, it was sent out yesterday.

-Well guess what.. .it's not even the phone he promised, it's some Audiovox. It also has no accessories as he promised.

-I call him up and ask what's going on. He said that I'll get my Motorola V60, but I need to go swap it at a local store. How the heck is this suppose to happen? I'll do as he says and go to my local dealer and tell them to swap it. Anyways, I ask him about the car accessories, he says he never said he'd give me accessories. He said he'll give a $30/month for 350 minutes a month ago and I ask him about it now and he says "uhhh... yea~" like I'm asking for a insane favor.

-My point is... some people are unbelievable. I can't believe this guy did something like this to someone he knows. I cannot understand what these people are thinking. Scam someone or even scam someone they know for their own gains. :(

One thread going is enough. We'll leave your latest one open.

As I used to say in my "foggy days"... "Would you rather get ripped off by someone you know or a stranger?"
The point being, as long as you're going to get ripped off anyway, at least someone you know can get the benefit rather than a stranger

I know that's cold comfort, but try and put it behind you.

check your local laws first to see if going to court will get you anywhere. Did yall have a verbal or written contract, etc?

It is actually impossible to get scammed by a friend unless you are talking about a friendly game of cards (or the equivalent).

Think about that for a moment. It's true.

That is so true. Someone like that can't even be called a "friend." If this is how the individual treats his "friends," I wonder how he treats his "enemies?"

actually i'd rather it be a stranger...if it were somebody i knew as a 'friend' i would be more pissed off about being betrayed than getting ripped off
