I was just informed that I can only take one 30 minute break all day

I work from 7am-3:30PM
isn't there a law that says workers should get two 15's and a 30 minute lunch in an 8 hour work day?

It's up to your state laws. Google it

what state are you in?

Here is the colorado law

For the industries covered by the Colorado Minimum Wage order, an employer is required to provide a 10 minute break for every four-hour work increment or major fraction of the four hours. For any workday exceeding five hours, an employer is required to provide a 30 minute unpaid meal period . The employees must be completely relieved of all duties and permitted to pursue personal activities to qualify as a non-work, uncompensated period of time. If the nature of your work is such that one cannot be relieved of duties, one may eat on the job and must be compensated for the on-duty meal period.

im in nj, and im screwed:

Q. What kind of breaks do I get? Are breaks and lunches required by law?

A. Mandatory break laws apply only to minors under the age of 18. Company policy dictates break and lunch periods for anyone over the age of 18. Minors under the age of 18 must be given a thirty (30) minute meal period after five (5) consecutive hours of work.

in ontario all the have to give you is 2 pd 10 minutes

During a nine hour shift, I'm given two fifteens and an hour for lunch.

During a nine hour shift, I'm given two fifteens and a half hour. However if operational requirements are such that it's not viable to take a break or lunch, we get compensated.

I get a 15 min paid and an hour unpaid for a 9 hour shift. (8-5) I get an extra 1/2 hour paid break if I go over 11 hours in 1 day (which happens in my job).

That's ok... I work at wawa and am on my feet from 6 - 3 with only 1 (one) 10 minute break.

Time to find a new job

i can get either an hour or half hour (my choice) and then one 10 minute later in the day time permitting.

i work retail (in a very relaxed environment 😛) so this time of year i can take a break whenever i want but during christmas its hectic we can't do that.

i love my job and the people i work with so i don't mind it.

Well, I have to say that sucks. You can contact HR I suppose, and if that fails:

Join the labor union and tell them to fix it.

Or

Quit.

Or

Take longer breaks (as long as you need) and see what they do (would assume fire you, so, have alternatives lined up...)

rbloedow, seriously, if you can't anything constructive, just hit the "cancel" button instead of the "post" button. He was asking a legitimate question, in a very neural manner, so have little respect, will ya?
