I was just given notice today as of 9:50 am that I am being let go. I have being working for a temporary agency on a job that was supposed last only 4-6 weeks back in February. It in now July 31 and was told that no one from my temp agency would be let go until August 31st. I was brought into the conference room, one-on-one with my boss and all she did was praise me for my work, but and then says there just isn?t enough work to keep everyone aboard. Today is my last day here and I am thankful that it went this long, but pissed because for the last couple of months that layoffs have been going on they tell us they will give us a week notice to find another job. Now I have until the end of today to hopefully at least get a lead into a new job. I don?t know what to do, I have bills to pay rent is due at the end of this week and car payment the following. I hate the corporate world.
Oh also the temp agency I work for is not the one that the Company I am assigned to has a national contract with, so in a sense I will probably be replaced on monday with someone from the temp agency they are supposed to be using. I have seen it happen for the past two months they have let people go. They let 3 go and bring back 3.
