No one has ever asked me to go before. 🙁
And I have not been to college yet.

Did you not go to highschool? Never been to a birthday party in elemetary school? Sad...

Just so you know, if you are fat it doesn't matter what you dress or wear, nobody not even dudes will talk to you so you might as well just slit your wrists right now. Remember, slit deep and diagonal, and go for the blue lines win your writsts. Those are key.

:frown:
not cool.

Wtf do you mean by "I'm pretty sure most of the people there will play on my team" ? Anyways, wear jeans and a t-shirt.

Jeans or khakis and a polo or button down shirt with or without a sweater over it.

I honestly cannot believe you've never been to a party.

I've never been to a party before. What is good for casual party attire?
It's with friends, and I am pretty sure most of the people there will play on my team. Should I dress up, dress down?
I don't go to parties, so I have no clue.

As long as you have your collar popped up, you're gold! 😛

The "in" thing is leaving your fly open to show your boxers. Not just the tops of the boxers like before, now the middle is uber cool. Go for it!

Wow, I mean just fvcking wow. If you haven't ever been to any sort of social gathering with people your age and you are 24 you might as well not start now. 😛

People like this must have something to prove to others...haven't figured out the use of these posts, and I see them all the time. He made this thread for advice, and being so mean as to use that thread to discourage him from going out his first time (smiley at the end or not, regardless) is just utterly pathetic.

Now to the question....wear whatever you feel best in. Even if its kinda crazy, if it makes you feel better, go for it. The biggest thing here is to let people think you know all about this sort of thing and that you're the life of the party. Of course if you're not a big talker, this can make things a bit more difficult, but if you act completely cool and loose and like you've got it all under control, people will simply think you do too. Then once you see that they're accepting you, you'll feel find and have a good nite after that. Its as simple as that: just let them think you're confident in yourself about going to this party and everything you do tonight: don't look at the ground, keep your head up and make eye contact with the people near you, greeting them with a casual "hey how you doing". Don't speek softly or quietly, make sure you're firmly saying your words. All these things are simple clues that let others think you're confident, even if you're not. Not very hard to fool people. Good luck! Post back with results/how the night went.

i agree. people just want to be @ssholes on forums for some reason. i guess it makes them "cool" or something.

i've never been to a big party before.
just call up the people who invited you and ask.

Zysoclaplem is gay, he's mentioned it in a few posts (or at least 1 for sure) already.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone more socially inept than your posts make you out to be.

Oh yeah???? I'm going to be 24 in a few months, and I've never even been on a date! Or kissed anyone (and I'm even in college now)! So there, beat that for social ineptitude!!!! Oh wait, that's not a good thing, is it...... 😉
And I don't drink, either.

Only "party" I've been to was a senior class party in high school. Just basic dress - shirt and pants, that's about it. T-shirt, polo shirt, whatever. Casual dress, which is what I'd expect this party to be.
Since it's New Year's, don't forget the classic lampshade. 😛

You're gay and you've never been to a party before? What kind of gay are you?

"jeans and a tshirt ... anything more is overdressing.
Also, I recommend bringing Captain Morgan's Private stock. "

Everyone's got a little Cap't in them ;-)

best advice yet, just remember to chill the bottle, cold shots are much better and hey, may get you laid cuz you're so hip!
